Onkyo Corporation announces brand license agreement with WhiteL in France
Onkyo Corporation (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka, Japan, President: Munenori Otsuki, hereinafter referred to “Onkyo”) announces that it has concluded the brand license agreement with WhiteL (Head office: Saint Denis, France) regarding “Sound by Onkyo” and “Powered by Onkyo” today. Onkyo licenses the brands “Sound by Onkyo” and “Powered by Onkyo” including the brand “ONKYO” symbolizing “sound” which has been developed for 80 years since our predecessor companyʼs founding to the third parties and increase additional values regarding “sound” of their products and services. This time, Onkyo concluded the brand license agreement to use “Sound by Onkyo” and “Powered by Onkyo” for “MyVibe” branded bone conduction headsets with WhiteL manufacturing and selling the bone conduction headsets under “MyVibe” brand. As the first step in this brand license agreement, the bone conduction headsets bearing “Powered by Onkyo” are scheduled to be launched in June, 2026. Regarding our patented invention We have obtained a patent for an invention relating to an electronic device equipped with a bone conduction mechanism, including earphones. This invention comprises a shell forming the outer housing of the device and a bone conduction unit whose vibration surface is exposed outside the shell. Vibrations generated by the bone conduction unit produce air-conducted sound that is delivered into the userʼs ear, while the vibrations themselves are also transmitted directly to the userʼs ear through bone conduction. As a result, the user can listen to audio from an electronic device at sufficient volume. Furthermore, since the structure does not seal the ear canal, the user can simultaneously hear surrounding ambient sounds. This enables safe and comfortable listening, particularly in situations requiring environmental awareness. The invention is applicable to a wide range of electronic devices, including but not limited to earphones and hearing aids.
